Aftercare Guide

We want to help you protect your investment and keep your ride looking fresh. Follow these quick tips to maintain your PPF, ceramic coating, tint, or vinyl wrap so you can enjoy that like-new look for years.

Paint Protection Film Aftercare

Wait 48 Hours Before Washing
Allow the PPF to fully cure and settle before the first wash. This ensures the film adheres properly and maximizes its protective performance.

Avoid Automated Car Washes
Harsh brushes and strong detergents can damage the film and may void your warranty. Hand washing is always safest.

Removing Insects and Stains
Clean off bug splatter or other stains as soon as possible. For best results, use XPEL Film Cleaner with a soft microfiber cloth to safely lift marks without damaging the film.

Pressure Washing Precautions
Avoid pressure washing for the first 48 hours. When using a pressure washer, keep at least 3 feet away from edges, as high pressure near seams can lift the film.

Removing Stubborn Stains
Most stains, such as bird droppings or bug residue, come off with regular soap and water. For tougher spots, gently use 100% isopropyl alcohol applied with a microfiber cloth.

Self-Healing Feature of PPF
Light scratches usually heal on their own within 30 minutes at room temperature. In colder weather, pour warm water (~48°C) over the scratch to speed up healing.

Maintain High Gloss
Use XPEL Ceramic Boost twice a year to preserve the deep gloss and protective properties.

Using Detailing Clay
Use detailing clay to safely remove surface contaminants from your film, keeping it smooth and ready for washing or protective treatments.

Warranty Claims
Always start with your installer. Bring your vehicle in so we can inspect the film and guide you through the warranty process.

Ceramic Coating Aftercare

Wait 72 Hours Before Washing
Allow your ceramic coating to fully set before the first wash to ensure maximum durability and protection.

Book Yearly Maintenance
Bring your vehicle to Monster Auto Lab once a year to maintain your coating and keep your warranty active. We’ll remind you when it’s time to schedule.

Avoid Automated Car Washes
Harsh brushes and soaps can damage the coating. Hand washing is safest and keeps your vehicle looking its best.We recommend using XPEL Rinse-Free Car Wash for gentle cleaning without affecting the coating.

Remove Stains Gently
Skip heavy scrubbing. Wipe away bird droppings, bugs, or sap as soon as possible to prevent marks and protect your coating. For a quick shine after cleaning, try our XPEL Detail Spray.

Interior Cleaning
For leather, plastics, and non-fabric surfaces, use XPEL Interior Cleaner as needed. For fabric areas, vacuum and use a clean, dry microfiber. Always test XPEL Interior Cleaner in an inconspicuous spot and follow the directions.

Prevent Water Spots
We recommend washing your vehicle weekly using XPEL Rinse-Free Car Wash and drying with a clean microfiber towel—like our XPEL Microfiber Towels. Avoid washing in direct sunlight to reduce streaks and water spots.

Boost Your Coating Between Maintenance
To keep your ceramic coating performing its best between annual visits, use XPEL Ceramic Boost. It restores hydrophobic properties and prolongs durability.

Warranty Coverage
Your coating is protected from the day it’s applied, as long as maintenance follows warranty guidelines. Full info: xpel.com/warranty-information.

Tint Aftercare

Wait Before Rolling Windows Down
Wait at least 4 days, or up to a week for extra safety. Rolling the windows too soon can affect the tint’s adhesion and longevity.

Expect Temporary Bubbles
Bubbles or haze are normal for up to 10 days after installation. If they persist beyond two weeks, contact us for an inspection.

Use the Right Cleaner
We recommend XPEL Anti-Static Window Cleaner, available in-store, for safe and streak-free cleaning.

Cleaning Windows
Wipe your windows with a lightly damp microfiber towel. For tougher spots, use XPEL Anti-Static Window Cleaner.

Maintain Your Window Tint
Watch for streaks or imperfections. Vertical streaks may indicate rubbing, which can wear out the tint. Always use soft microfiber cloths and avoid abrasive cleaners. Contact us if you notice bubbles or creases forming.

Washing Your Vehicle
You can wash your car normally after tint installation. Since the tint is on the inside of the window, washing won’t affect it as long as the windows remain closed.

Vinyl Wrap Aftercare

Wait 48 Hours Before Washing
Allow your vinyl wrap to fully cure after pickup before the first wash. This ensures the adhesive sets properly and maintains the wrap’s longevity.

Avoid Automated Car Washes
Harsh brushes and strong detergents can scratch or lift the wrap edges and may void your warranty. Hand washing is always safest.

Pressure Washing Precautions
Avoid pressure washing for the first 48 hours. When using a pressure washer, keep at least 3 feet away from edges to prevent lifting or damage.

Remove Stubborn Stains Promptly
Clean bird droppings, tree sap, grease, gasoline, and insect residue as soon as possible to prevent damage. Most stains can be removed with soap and water. For tougher spots, gently use 70% isopropyl alcohol. Avoid solvents or oil-based cleaners.

Wrap Maintenance Products
We recommend using a quick detailer spray designed for vinyl wraps to maintain the finish, enhance shine, and prolong the life of your wrap.

2 Bucket Wash Method

Proper washing is key to maintaining your vehicle’s PPF, ceramic coating, vinyl wrap, or paint. Follow these steps to keep your finish looking flawless.

  • Set up two buckets: One with soapy water, one with clean water for rinsing your mitt.

  • Wash section by section: Soak, wash, rinse in clean water before dipping back.

  • Top to bottom: Start with the roof and work down; leave wheels for last.

  • Use a separate mitt for wheels: Keeps dirt from scratching the paint.

  • Dry carefully: Use a clean microfiber towel; avoid air drying in direct sunlight.

  • Wash regularly: Every couple of weeks; avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cloths.

  • Detail after washing: Use a quick detailer spray to maintain shine and protection.
