What is ceramic coating and how does it work?
A ceramic coating is a protective liquid polymer that bonds directly to your vehicle’s factory paint. How long does ceramic coating last?
Depending on the package you choose, a professionally applied ceramic coating can protect your vehicle for anywhere from 2 to 10 years. Factors like how often you wash your car, where you park, and general exposure to the elements all play a role in longevity. Is ceramic coating better than waxing?
Wax and paint sealants wear off within weeks or months and need constant reapplication. A ceramic coating, on the other hand, lasts years and provides a harder, more chemical-resistant layer. It also makes washing easier since dirt and water bead off the surface. For anyone who wants lasting protection without the hassle of frequent upkeep, ceramic coating is the better investment.
Will ceramic coating protect against scratches and rock chips?
Ceramic coating adds a hard protective layer that resists light scratches and swirl marks from everyday washing and contact. However, it is not designed to absorb heavy impacts like rock chips or deep scratches. For that level of protection, paint protection film (PPF) is the better option. Many of our Surrey-area customers combine PPF with ceramic coating for comprehensive coverage.
Should I get paint correction before ceramic coating?
We strongly recommend it. Paint correction removes existing scratches, swirl marks, and surface imperfections before the coating is applied. Since ceramic coating locks in whatever condition your paint is in, starting with a corrected surface means a deeper shine and better overall result.
